6 Reasons Your “New Year, New You” Isn’t Working Out

1) you only have one form of self care. There’s a ton of reasons not to only have one form of self care (how do you function when it becomes inaccessible, it doesn’t help recharge your other areas that need tuning, etc.). You want to create multiple ways to recharge and take care of yourself.

2) you've set unrealistic expectations for yourself. There’s nothing wrong with big ambitious goals. The best way to reach them is by setting mini, attainable goals.

3) you're trying to force yourself to love your body. You don’t have to love your body to accept, feel less uncomfortable, or respect it.

4) you're out of touch with your hunger and fullness cues. This sets you up for the restrict-binge cycle. Plus no one wants to be hangery all day.

5) you need a healthier relationship with movement. Movement is a very nuanced topic. If you’re overextending, flat out refusing, and/or completely miserable, this needs some repair.

6) you need one on one coaching with a dietitian! Nutrition coaching can help you re-evaluate your goals and help you on your journey.
